Hi there! My name is Kennedy Coakley and I am a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with  experience supporting individuals, couples, and families of all ages through a wide range of life challenges. I have experience working with clients facing challenges of anxiety, depression, DID, betrayed partners, spousal conflict, neurodivergence, attachment, grief, trauma, life transitions, domestic violence and protective parenting.  It has been an honor to collaborate with my clients by creating a safe space with the pleasure of seeing clients grow, find their own autonomy and conquer challenges themselves with our collaborative work.

I began my academic path at California State University, San Marcos where I received my bachelors in Psychology. Early on I knew I wanted to help, be impactful and be that listening ear to others that I needed myself.I began my journey with psychoeducation and psychotherapy working with children as young as two years old at the Center of Autism while later working at a female group home for adolescents.  This inspired my need to do more in the field of psychology. I went back to school and received my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University.

My approach is grounded in the belief that healing must honor the full complexity of your identity—race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic background, and lived experiences. My approach is also compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to meet the unique needs of each client as it is the your world I have the pleasure of joining.  I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, develop insight, and build meaningful change. My practice is rooted in evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Psychoeducation is a part of my practice discussing topics of attachment theory, cycle of abuse, generational trauma, coping skills and building resilience etc.
