Life has an interesting way of getting our attention to seek therapy. It could be through being tired of feeling a certain way, wanting to learn new ways to cope and communicate, experiencing the uncertainties of transitions in life, being ready to address and let go of old pain, or maybe things are going well and you are looking into developing tools to maintain your healthy lifestyle.
Whatever the reason is, I’m glad that you’re here.
My name is Keisha Thomas and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with experience working in various settings and populations, including working with foster youth, children and transitional aged youth (18-25 years old) on the spectrum and/or diagnosed with ADHD and other learning differences, adults living with severe mental illnesses including Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, children and families using therapeutic play and behavioral group therapy, community mental health clinics, and crisis management. My experience working with individuals and families from all walks of life inspires me to make a conscious effort to honor and highlight strengths for hope and empowerment. I see myself as an active partner in collaboration with my clients’ goals. My aim is to provide insightful therapy in a safe, genuine, and non-judgmental environment.
I never insist that I know the best way or have the right answers, but rather provide support in identifying and using your innate strengths and resources while working on what has brought you here. I believe in incorporating all elements of your life (mind, body, and spirit) on your path to healing and self-discovery.
It would be my privilege to be a part of your journey.
