Make no mistake, 2020 was a difficult year for many. Did 2020 leave you feeling burnt out, exhausted mentally and physically? Lacking in your self-care? Angry? Depressed? Anxious? Overwhelmed? Stressed? Lacking motivation? An increase in unhealthy habits? It’s a fresh year, time for a fresh start, a fresh life. Let this be the year that you transform your life. “You can rise up from anything. You can completely recreate yourself. Nothing is permanent. You are not stuck. You have choices. You can think new thoughts. You can learn something new. You can create new habits. All that matters is that you decided today” -averstu.com.
Hi, my name is Janepher Remigio, I am a pre-graduate Master’s in Social Work student at Fordham University. I am honored in working and enhancing my skills under the supervision of Thrive Well Trauma Center’s experienced and accomplished licensed therapists. I have over 10 years of social work experience working in community mental health settings, school social work, nursing homes, acute care hospitals, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric facilities, health, community mental health advocacy organizations, child, family, and adult agencies. My clients included children, adolescents, families, and older adults, emphasizing the mutual development of goals for therapy and provision of ongoing evaluation of the therapeutic approach. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, family, and group therapy across the lifespan. I have been educated and trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Reality Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Crisis Intervention. My experience in children, families, dependent adults, older adults, and mental health agencies have allowed me to work with wide spectrum of clients specializing in Substance Use Disorders, Depression, Suicidal Ideation, Anxiety, Grief and Loss, Childhood Trauma, Caregiver Stress, End of Life Issues, Self-Harm, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Schizophrenia, and other Chronic Mental Health Disorders. I utilize a variety of techniques and skills drawn from recognized therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, DBT, Psychoeducation, Behavior Modification, and Mindfulness.
I strongly believe that we can work together to help you achieve your goals, “goals that will you navigate through life, whether they are personal goals, professional goals, a goal to replace a bad habit or simply a goal for achieving success” -positivepsychology.com. Because “therapy is not just about creating an absence of negative feelings, or conversely about creating happy feelings. It is about helping you live a productive life and about helping you develop and sustain meaningful relationships. It’s also about learning and applying the skills needed in order to grow from life’s ups and downs” -Dr. Neal Houston, Sociologists.
