Hi, my name is Isabel Ntekim and I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW #101008), I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Denver. I have worked with both adolescents and adults. I’ve had the privilege of working which adolescents in middle schools and high schools providing psychoeducation on the risks of substance use, anxiety, and depression. I worked at a non-profit residential treatment facility for substance use where I had the opportunity to treat clients in individual therapy and facilitated groups such as Trauma, Grief, Mindfulness, Anger Management, Parenting, DBT Skills and Wellness Recovery. I simultaneously work at an outpatient clinic where I treat patients that face physical and mental health challenges such as chronic illness, chronic pain, substance use, depression, and anxiety.
My goal is to create a safe, healing environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself. Together we can uncover what is most important to you, what is keeping you from living the life you truly want, and work towards creating goals and strategies to get you there. I want to assist you in finding your strengths so you can feel empowered to make the decisions that will provide you safety, comfort, peace, and joy. I look forward to working with younger children and providing the same type of safe and healing environment by incorporating modalities such as therapeutic play and mindfulness.
“It is important to explore with people what helps them to stay calm and to keep the observational part of the mind alive” -Bessel van der Kolk, MD
